Do any of you know a guy named roman polansky ??? He has great movies shot on one location.
Shooting in one location does not mean you have an easier job, sometimes this could be harder than working in many locations because its hard to maintain the viewers attention in one space, you really have to know how to do it! I think that if you take more seriously those tips (taking the easy way out...) than a movie you are going to have problems and become a mediocre filmmaker than a guerilla filmmaker.

Well now...I shot my first short in 2 days using 2 locations. 10 of the 12 minutes are set within one room and no-one has ever lost interest in it while it was playing. Some people been a little freaked out, but no-one was bored...because no matter what you think of it, you've NEVER seen anything like it...

Well hey, one of my all time top ten favourites happens to be The Breakfast Club and what a fine example of minimalism that was.

My Dinner With Andre: the ultimate in minimalist filmmaking. Two guys sit in a restaurant and talk for two hours.
The $$$ goes toward filmstock, printing, developing, synching, lighting, crew, and so forth. For the most part, shooting a movie on film in a vastly constricted area is logistically impossible. So shoot anywhere on video. If you want to shoot outdoors, in a city or on a street, don't bother getting a permit! (Unless of course your shooting from an angle on the middle of the road with cars passing by) It's called GUIRELLA filmmaking for a reason!

"Easiest" as in the easiest way in terms of logistics. The more elements you strip away from the sheer physical and organisational demands of making a movie, the more you can concentrate on the acting, story; i.e. the important things that your audience cares about.
I think it would be possible to make a quality full length feature for less than ?1,000 following those guidelines, and, if the subsequent movie turns out to be any good, it proves that you can direct and tell a story, which are the most imporatant skills after all.

I want to take the easy way out. I was exploring the possibility of a loaded gun but that doesn't appear to be legal at the moment. I'm going to make a film set entirely in one house with four actors and one dead body. The dead body won't be dead from the start but she will be dead once I've killed her, probably with a claw hammer. Don't worry though, the killing with the hammer will be simulated: we'll make a foam-rubber hammer for the actual smashing in of the female head. For the real killing, I'll probably go for strangulation or asphyxiation.
So when you guys see a film come out with four actors and an attractive model type actress who gets done in obstensively with a claw-hammer (but a dressing-gown cord offscreen) and the body is hidden in a chest then you'll know that that's the movie what I done.
The hammer will have a red handle (extra clue). Shooting for one week on DigiBeta once I can get my parents out of the way.

Yes, Video Daze was given a positive review in Total Film a couple of years ago.
You must have a damn good memory, espcially considering the review only took up about three column inches at the bottom of the page.

The entire film takes place in one set and it's a freakin Cube for 1 1/2 hours and it's a really really cool flick.

Cube was a good little movie. They only had one cube/set but kept lighting it a different color. It worked well.
I read that cube 2 went into production last month.
Despin out.
